Spok to Demonstrate Powerful Clinical Mobility and Workflow Solutions at RSNA 2015
SPRINGFIELD, Va. (November 10, 2015) –Spok, Inc. today announced that representatives will demonstrate the company’s innovative solutions for clinical mobility and workflow improvement at the 101st annual meeting of the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) to be held Nov. 29 to Dec. 4 in Chicago.
“Healthcare organizations are seeking ways to become more efficient in delivering high-quality care, and we offer critical communication solutions that can help them, especially in the field of radiology,” said Vincent D. Kelly, chief executive officer of Spok Holdings, Inc. “Our solutions can speed the communication of critical test results and also provide secure messaging, improving clinician workflow and patient care.”
Spok expects its critical test results management (CTRM) and secure text messaging solutions to be a popular topic of conversation during RSNA. The company’s CTRM solution delivers fast notifications to providers, and allows radiology departments to confirm results are received by viewing the CTRM dashboard’s audit trail. Another important benefit is the solution’s integration with a patient’s electronic medical record (EMR) because it closes the communication loop on the status of results. The Spok CTRM solution handles all acuity levels and helps emergency department physicians identify normal results sooner for faster patient discharge. Additionally, it allows radiologists to note incidental findings that may require further attention or follow-up care. The solution can also benefit other departments that depend on fast, efficient communication including cardiology and lab.
Secure text messaging is another area of interest for many radiology professionals. The convenience and efficiency of communicating via mobile devices is well known, yet the healthcare environment presents special challenges because of the need for communications to be HIPAA compliant.
“Many physicians and clinicians are looking for a way to communicate sensitive information securely, particularly when it comes to test results,” said Kelly. “The Spok Mobile® secure texting app allows users to easily share test results or other protected health information via mobile phones to speed care coordination.” The app can link to a hospital’s full electronic directory of contact and on-call information and enables users to send messages, images, and even videos to smartphones and other devices.
RSNA is celebrating its 101st year as the radiology industry’s leading forum for education, networking, and collaboration. More than 50,000 industry professionals from around the world attend this event every year seeking the latest research and technology. Spok representatives will be demonstrating CTRM and secure texting solutions in Booth 3119 in the South Building of McCormick Place, Hall A.
