A Welcoming Community

Spok customers are the nation’s largest hospitals and health systems, Fortune 500 companies, and the U.S. Military. All of these organizations are mission driven, and Spok has the critical job of helping them fulfill those missions with reliable communications. That’s a role we take seriously and that provides deeply meaningful and rewarding work for our employees. The majority of our business is in the healthcare industry, and virtually everyone knows what it’s like to receive care, as a patient or as a patient’s loved one. Making the patient experience better through improved care team collaboration is the purpose that drives our work, and you can see the results of that work through our customer case studies. We have a hand in eliminating communication breakdowns, speeding response times, and reducing mortality rates, or literally saving patient lives. What we do truly matters.

Challenging and Fun Careers

“You’re always being pushed towards being your best while having fun at the same time.” That’s a direct quote from Spokster Keith Bivens, technical support lead, in the video above, and we couldn’t agree more with his assessment. Spok is a mid-sized organization with about 600 employees—large enough for long-term stability and substantial resources, yet small enough to be agile and innovative. Our employees often describe the environment as fast-paced and highly collaborative. Everyone expects a lot out of their teammates, and that impels all of us to work at our maximum potential. Whether you’re just getting started or have years of experience, you’ll be at the forefront of building, marketing, selling, or supporting innovative solutions. While we work hard, we play hard too.

An Array of Benefits

In addition to competitive salaries, we offer comprehensive benefits packages to show you’re a valued part of the Spok team. Our benefits include:

Health  and Wellness: We support the health and well-being of you and your family, and offer several health insurance plans for you to choose from, including PPO and HRA medical, dental, and vision. We also provide claims advocacy, a provider search engine to help you find high quality and low cost care, plus a robust employee wellness program that rewards achievement of health and wellness goals with a discount on health insurance premiums. Our employee assistance program, flexible spending accounts, telehealth services, and medical benefits abroad round out our offerings.

Retirement/Income Protection: We want to help you plan for today and tomorrow, the expected and unexpected. To help you save for retirement, new employees are automatically enrolled in our 401(K) retirement savings plan, which includes 401(K) match with true-up (allows employees to receive employer matches that they would have otherwise missed out on because of 401(k) front-loading or because of uneven contributions spread throughout the year). Matching contributions are 100 percent vested after three years of service. We also offer life insurance, accidental death and dismemberment insurance, as well as long-term and short-term disability coverage.

Invest in Your Success: Spok offers all employees the opportunity to invest in the fruits of their efforts with an Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP). ESPP is a convenient, cost-effective means of acquiring equity interest in Spok at a discount, allowing you to become an owner in the company, vote as a shareholder, and share in the dividends and stock price increase.

Work/Life Balance: We firmly believe that productive employees are happy employees, and that means taking time off to pursue what makes you happy. In addition to ten paid holidays, you can plan to take 15 days of paid time off annually, which is increased to 20 paid days in year three. Not to mention, PTO days roll over at year-end. We also offer flexible work schedules and teleworking/work from home options.

Learn, Grow, and Save: When you join the team at Spok, you’re investing your time, energy, and talents with us, and we want to invest in you too. We support an “always learning” culture with education assistance, and professional training and development opportunities.
