Spok Employees Are Passionate About Giving

At Spok, we’ve created an environment of giving back and are committed to keeping corporate responsibility a part of our everyday work. In order to build this company-wide culture, Spok promotes opportunities for employees to volunteer through community activities and charitable programs. Spok often matches employee contributions, dollar-for-dollar, to contribute to causes employees are most passionate about. Bike MS 150—Minnesota

For the third year, Spok employees rode over 1,500 miles in two days raising awareness for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. Bike MS is the largest fundraising bike series in the world with nearly 100,000 cyclists each year.

American Lung Association

For the second year Spok employees have supported the American Lung Association in the Fight for Air Climb. Together, Spok teams, from the Plano, Texas, and Eden Prairie, Minnesota have contributed to the battle to prevent and cure lung disease.

Building Red Wagons

During Spok’s annual sales meeting, employees teamed up to build a dozen red wagons, later donated to the Phoenix Children’s Hospital and Cardon Children’s Medical Center, in Arizona. Each wagon was customized with fun decals, accessories, and a personalized message to the patient families who would later use them to transport children around the hospital.

Gillette Children’s Specialty Healthcare

Spok employees delivered 72 handmade activity bags to children facing disabilities and complex medical issues atGillette Children’s Speciality Healthcare in Minnesota. Each bag contained coloring books, crayons, Play-Doh, puzzles, stickers, balls, origami kits, activity books, and toy planes, Slinkys®, and kazoos.

Walk to End Alzheimer’s

Team Spok comprised of Spok employees, family and friends, walked in unity with thousands of participants in the Walk to End Alzheimer’s event in Reston, Virginia.

7th Annual Free to Breathe Run/Walk

Spok Team “Air Supply” participated in the 7th annual Free to Breathe Dallas/Fort Worth Run/Walk. Thanks to the generosity of fellow employees, friends and family, the team raised funds to support lung cancer research and awareness.

Dell Children’s Medical Center

Spok partnered with Cheeriodicals to assemble 152 “big green boxes of cheer” for patients at Dell Children’s Medical Center of Central Texas. Spok employees packed boxes full of activity books, puzzles, bouncy balls, Play-Doh, and plush animals. Spok also donated four children’s wagons to Dell Children’s Child Life Department. Parents use the wagons to transport their children around the hospital and have a little fun along the way.

Toys for Tots

At Spok, we really enjoy supporting children and youth programs. In December, we took part in our annual holiday tradtion with the Toys for Tots Campaign of the United States Marine Corps! Toys for Tots is a top-rated charity providing toys, books and other gifts to children in need.

Standing Together During Times of Need

Puerto Rico Relief Efforts

Hurricane Maria caused significant damage to Puerto Rico’s island connectivity infrastructure. Spok was there to lend wireless spectrum in support of Project Loon, which helped provide basic Internet connectivity to more than 200,000 people on to the island.

Supporting Communications During Hurricane Harvey and Irma Rescue and Recovery

Working with hospitals and emergency organizations, Spok supported communications during rescue and recovery efforts.

Spok field techs repaired equipment, while customer service staff contacted customers to help meet their needs during and after the storms.

Sharing Our Knowledge For The Greater Good

Spok Helps Identify Robocall Scammer

Working with the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) and the FBI, Spok successfully helped bring charges against an alleged robocall scheme.
