SPRINGFIELD, Va. (August 3, 2016) – Spok, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Spok Holdings, Inc. (NASDAQ: SPOK) and the global leader in enterprise critical communications, today announced that all 20 hospitals named to U.S. News & World Report’s 2016-2017 Best Hospitals Honor Roll and all 11 hospitals named to the 2016-17 Best Children’s Hospitals Honor Roll rely on Spok® solutions to connect their care teams and strengthen patient care.
“We are truly honored that these prestigious hospitals and health systems entrust Spok to support their clinical communication and collaboration needs,” said Vincent D. Kelly, president and chief executive officer of Spok Holdings, Inc. “We extend our deepest congratulations to these organizations. We look forward to continually supporting their missions as they provide the best care to advance the health and well-being of the diverse communities they serve.”
U.S. News & World Report’s Best Hospitals rankings have been conducted for more than 25 years and are among the most referenced by consumers because they are based primarily on objective data, such as patient survival rates and hospital resources. Each hospital’s reputation, as determined by a survey of physician specialists, is also a factor. This year they surveyed nearly 5,000 medical centers across the country spanning 25 medical specialties, procedures, and conditions. To receive a spot on this prestigious honor roll, hospitals had to earn very high scores in at least six specialties.
“These healthcare organizations are the best of the best, and communication plays a key role in delivering excellent care,” said Hemant Goel, president of Spok, Inc. “We’re pleased our solutions can work behind the scenes to connect care providers with one another and with clinical messaging to help improve patient outcomes.”
Spok serves more than 2,000 healthcare organizations around the world. The Spok Care Connect® platform helps hospitals improve clinical messaging throughout the organization with integrated solutions across patient floors, in the call center, and in lab and radiology areas.
