Nat Guyton Named Chief Nursing Officer for Spok, Inc.

SPRINGFIELD, Va. (July 6, 2016) – Spok Holdings, Inc. (NASDAQ: SPOK), the global leader in critical communications, today announced the appointment of industry veteran Nat’e Guyton as Chief Nursing Officer (CNO), effective July 6, 2016. In her new role, Guyton will be responsible for effectively representing nursing communications needs in a clinical setting to drive enhancement of Spok’s critical communications software solutions.  She will also work with nurses at healthcare facilities globally in order to share best practices and implement programs for improved patient care and satisfaction.

Guyton began her career with nursing positions at Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital in Darby, Pa., and at Temple University Hospital. She served as Senior Director of Nursing Operations at St. Francis Hospital in Wilmington, Del., and as SVP, Chief Nurse Officer at Mercy Suburban Hospital in Norristown, Pa. More recently, she was Chief Nurse Officer and then Chief Clinical Informatics Officer at Trinity Health System. She brings extensive experience in clinical and operational leadership in healthcare, along with a strong background in quality management and excellence in patient care.

Guyton received both a BSN and an MSN in Nursing from Widener University in Upland, Pa., and a Doctorate in Management from the University of Phoenix.  She is licensed in both Pennsylvania and Delaware and certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center as Nurse Executive Advanced and by the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society as a Certified Professional in Healthcare Information and Management Systems. She is a member of the American Nursing Informatics Association, the American College of Healthcare Executives, and the American Organization of Nurse Executives.
