The Company’s Connect 17 conference helps customers envision the future of healthcare communications

SPRINGFIELD, Va.  (Oct. 16, 2017) – This week Spok, Inc., the global leader in healthcare communications, welcomed over 150 customers to Connect 17, its annual conference for healthcare professionals. The event, taking place in New Orleans, provides a setting for healthcare clinicians, IT experts, and C-suite executives to explore the challenges and opportunities of using communications technology to improve patient outcomes.

“Our Connect conference brings together some of the brightest minds in the industry to think big, envision the future of healthcare communications, and pave the way to get there,” said Vincent D. Kelly, chief executive officer of Spok Holdings, Inc. “Our collaboration with the hospitals through these conferences has helped us to create an industry-leading technology platform and recognition as a thought leader.”

Dr. Chris Snyder, chief medical information officer for Peninsula Regional Medical Center (PRMC), opened the conference, discussing how better care coordination improves patient outcomes and the ways Spok® solutions have supported clinical practice at PRMC.

In addition to a full agenda of presentations, Connect 17 features sessions on increasing the efficiency of EHRs, consolidating call centers for improved customer service, boosting patient satisfaction with technology, and giving nurses more time at the bedside.  The conference also offers insight from industry thought leaders, including an exploration of the potential futures of Medicare, Medicaid, and the private insurance market under the current administration from The Advisory Board.

Updates from the conference are posted to Spok’s blog, and Twitter feed.
