This will be my third year attending Spok’s Connect conference. I keep returning because of the people I get to meet and the things I learn.
Networking with other people who use the same solutions is really valuable for me, especially when we can continue our conversations after the conference. The Spok Directions user group makes it easy to keep in contact with everyone. We maintain an open dialogue, ask questions throughout the year, and hear how others are solving the challenges that we all face. Beyond the professional, I’m also looking forward to reconnecting with people in person. The venues are always amazing, and we have a lot of fun at the evening events.
The Connect conference is a wealth of information packed into three days. I learn a lot each time I go – new products that Spok is working on, what’s happening in the healthcare industry, and ways to utilize more functionality within the products we already have. That’s a key component for me – when I leave I want tangible tips that I can bring back to Banner and implement immediately.
This year, I’m excited to be a presenter, too. I’m planning an interactive case study that focuses on a new addition to our Spok portfolio, clinical alerting. Last year, one of our biggest challenges was centralizing the call center across two hospitals and integrating code calls. At Connect 13 I learned about the clinical alerting capabilities Spok offered, and how they could help us accomplish our goals. I connected with other attendees who were already using the solution and was able to talk with them about their experiences. Our rollout went so well that now other departments are interested in applying it to their workflows, too. My experiences at Connect have been excellent. Attendees are always well supported, there are opportunities to ask lots of questions. We even have the option to meet one-on-one with Spok executives. I encourage anyone considering this year’s event to go because of what they can take away. The conference makes you look at how you use your solutions in a new way and helps you make valuable personal and professional connections.
